Northern Lights Tour at Murphy Dome

描述

Join us for a trip to Murphy Dome, one of the most famous landmarks in the Fairbanks area and a popular aurora viewing location.

Rising just shy of 3,000 feet above sea level, Murphy Dome is best-known as the home of a U.S. Air Force Surveillance Radar Station, which is closed to the public. The publicly accessible part of Murphy Dome is a popular spot for outdoors activities such as ATV riding, hiking, and more. It is known for offering gorgeous views of the Fairbanks area and is an ideal place to observe the Northern Lights in winter, far away from the bright lights of the city.

Our tour will take you from the city of Fairbanks to the top of Murphy Dome to observe the Northern Lights. Our experienced drivers will let you enjoy scenic views of rural Alaska, witness an aurora, and be back home in time for bed, while our tour guides will fill you in on the history of Alaska, the science of the Northern Lights, and more.

Please note that we cannot guarantee that you will see the Northern Lights during your tour. The Fairbanks Convention and Visitors Bureau states that visitors who stay in Fairbanks for three or more days have a 90 percent of seeing an aurora.

Additionally, please note that Murphy Dome does not have lodges or facilities of any kind, including restrooms. Our tour van can make a restroom stop on request before leaving Fairbanks.
